Poas Volcano is one of the most unique volcanoes in the entire world. The volcano is located within Poas National Park and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. One of the craters has a beautiful blue lake at the bottom which contrasts greatly with the dense foliage surrounding it. The other crater spews boiling sulphurous gases, and is believed to be the only one of its type in the world. When visiting the volcano it is best to arrive early in the morning as the clouds often cover the craters in the afternoon.
